What do I do if my account has been suspended?

Suspended Account Message

You may suddenly find that your website has been replaced by a big notification that your account has been suspended. While it's possible that you may have violated a policy, the more likely cause is an unpaid bill.

An invoice for hosting is generated 5 days prior to the due date and you are notified at this time. If for some reason the payment fails, you will be sent another notification and an overdue notice. In a week, if it isn't paid, you will receive another notice of payment failure and a second notice.  After a third overdue notice, you will be warned that if the bill has not been paid, your account will be suspended. All told, 9 emails are sent before suspension is initiated.

If you are not receiving these emails, have you changed your email address and not updated your account? If your credit card payment failed, the most likely reason is that it has expired.

The good news is that a suspension due to non-payment can be lifted immediately upon payment of the outstanding invoice.  If you're having trouble making a payment, you are urged to contact us - we don't want your site to be down either!

Resource limit issues may be another reason. You are notified if you are reaching bandwidth or diskspace limits; in some cases, you may have to upgrade your hosting account. If you use IMAP for email, you must offload your email to local folders on a regular basis. This will prevent your allotted resources from being exceeded. Another cause may be malware on your site, or possibly an application or plugin you recently installed may be pushing the limits and using server resources to such a degree that it is affecting the whole server. If this is the case, in order to ensure integrity on the server for other sites, your account may be suspended until this problem is resolved.

And finally, a violation of policy, for example, sending out bulk email from our servers, is another possible reason for account suspension. Contact us to learn the reason for the violation so that we can help you resolve it.

If you have not contacted us within 10 days of your account suspension, your website may be irretrievably lost.

If your account has been suspended, please contact us as soon as possible to avoid this situation.
